Operation Sleeper

I had to help move a double mattress yesterday.  Not between rooms, but moving it across town - 1 mile of carrying.

I did not think it was possible, just too big an item for two people to carry.  But amazingly we managed it, setting out very early 6:15 am - and doing the move in about 30 minutes.  We were very lucky with the weather, it held off.  Later on we went to the seafront and walked along there, by which time the wind had really picked up.

I think we now hold the record for mattress moving by hand...

The Flashing Blade

For some reason I thought back to my summer holidays when I was growing up. For a couple of years there seemed to be re-runs of a French imported series called The Flashing Blade. It was an epic series on horseback it seemed, so I looked it up:

Lottery

Going back to Saturday 19th of November 1994. The first ever UK lottery draw, I was at University and this was a shared ticket. Only a few shops had got their lottery terminals working, so it was a struggle to get one. But here it is, we lost. Every few years I sort through some things and find the ticket again.
So this is my 400th post, and this seemed like a good thing to put up - from all of 17 years ago.
